Why isn’t there enough time for writing?

Why can I never seem to find enough time for writing?

The simple answer is, “There is.” I’m just not making enough time. If I really wanted to be writing, I would do it.

I waited too long to work on my school work. I had a lot to do this week making two social media presentations and editing 15 articles that I put off my sociolinguistics class until Saturday. I found out today I wrote 3,333 words for that class and I’m only my fourth week. It might seem like a lot to those that hate writing a 500-word essay, but for this journalist, it’s kind of a breeze. Heck, some of my blog posts top out around 1,800 words.

I also spend a lot of time reading about marketing, search engine optimization and social media. Yeah, work gets in the way of work. I’d rather be reading H.P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness.

I probably could should have passed on watching Killers from Space.

Now it’s Saturday night and I’d rather go out and talk with people. I’ve been sequestered in my room for the last 10 hours and should back away from the keyboard and socialize. Chatting online doesn’t count. As much as I like Facebook and Twitter, sometimes I just need to see what another human being looks like in person.

Then again, sleep sounds pretty good. I have to make a blog for work tomorrow. At least I don’t have to write for it.

On writing ,

  1. Search Engine Optimization? That’s all I do at my job. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask I understand fairly well. I’m actually going to start writing a guide on it, but I don’t think I’ll put it online.
