“Do you have an ID,” she asked.
He dug his press badge out of his pocket and held it so she could see it through the screen door. This ID sure was getting a lot of use today, he thought.
“Oh, the reporter. Dad said he was trying to get a hold of you.”
“Well, I’m here. Can I come in?”
She pushed the screen door open slightly and he let himself inside. She led him to the kitchen and they sat down at the table.
“Would you like anything? I just made some coffee,” Julie said.
“I’m good. Thanks. Did your dad talk about his experiments? Did he say what he’s working on?”
“Not really. He muttered a lot about them. He was pretty excited this last week.” Julie poured herself a cup of coffee. “My dad is an experimental physicist at the university.
